You may recall that when Mario Rossi last presented a program for us, it was devoted to demon liquor (well, the gentler spirits anyway) and entitled, ÒLet's Have a DrinkÓ. And since wine, women and song go so famously together, he has now decided to address the last portion of that inseparable triumvirate by turning his attention to the song repertoire, hence the title of our February program. Now, Mario does have an inclination towards Italian opera and singers - witness his extraordinary program devoted to LA GIOCONDA some years back - but we have already seen the contents of his upcoming program and it really is devoted entirely to song. And while the men, women and music of Italy are much-represented, we also note that American, Spanish, Russian, German, Irish and French singers performing like repertoire are actually preponderate in February (although singer and song are not always lined up the way you might expect). We could regale you here with some of the great names you will be hearing, but that would be telling. It is surely better that you be happily surprised (and you will be) by Mario's many offerings. Do plan to be with us for what promises to be a delightful and entertaining evening, courtesy of the delightful and entertaining Mario Rossi.
